Ah, lavender (اسطخو دوس). Just thinking about the plant brings on feelings of relaxation. Sipping on tea made out of its flowers, or smelling its scent will calm your mind or help you sleep better. But did you know that you could also use this purple flowering plant for homemade beauty treatments?

Lavender is one of the most fragrant of all herbs.Lavender has been used through the ages for of its cleansing, wound healing properties and as a natural insect repellent. Romans started using it to scent and purifying their baths centuries ago.

Environmental toxins and daily stress can tax the skin, giving it a coarse and inflamed appearance. Lavender can help combat both culprits with a one-two punch. It contains powerful antioxidants that will prevent and counteract the irritating effects of pollutants on the skin.

Whether used alone or with other soothing ingredients, there are plenty of reasons why you should keep this herb handy.

Lavender powder is used in cosmetics, soap, and skincare products for the following properties:

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Antiseptic
  • Antibacterial
  • Toning

One of the wonderful benefits of lavender powder is its antibacterial activity. Because lavender can penetrate pores to kill bacteria, it may go far in preventing and healing breakouts.
